"Remember, The Force Will Be With You, Always."


For the past few weeks I have been discussing Salesforce with an old colleague of mine. Salesforce has built an amazing CRM systems that has capabilities for more than just sales. Salesforce has modules for claims, marketing initiatives (including Facebook), as well as dashboards and analytics viewable even from mobile devices. Best yet, Salesforce is a cloud based system which limits the data your organization is responsible for hosting.


Salesforce was founded in 1999 in by former Oracle executive Marc Benioff, Parker Harris, Dave Moellenhoff, and Frank Dominguez. Quickly Salesforce became a formidable CRM system competing with Microsoft Dynamics and Oracle and became publicly traded in 2004. Salesforce as a company has since ranked 240 on the Fortune 500 in 2019. That makes them the fifteenth largest American tech company.


Salesforce main goal is to simplify customer relationships and the act of selling to your customers. You start out with leads, which eventually become opportunities and accounts. Salesforce lets you market effectively to your customers based on history and forecasting, manage customer's concerns, provides an e-commerce platform, as well has handles claims and build custom marketing apps and leverage AI for your customers.
